This year's International Film Festival Beast in Porto, Portugal, is dedicated to modern Slovenian cinema.
The festival opens today with a screening of shorts by three female directors from Slovenia.
The opening films will include the animated documentary Granny's Sexual Life, the animated short Steakhouse, and the short film Sisters.
All of them have won awards. Granny's Sexual Life having won the French film award César for the best animated short this year
Running until October 1, under the slogan No Happy Ever After, the festival will feature more than 100 films.
