Slovenian President Borut Pahor welcomed a delegation of the US-Senate led by Senator Richard Shelby. After talk between Pahor and 6 senators the group celebrated the Day of Slovenian and American Friendship at the Estate Vila Podrožnik in Ljubljana. Shelby was accompanied by Senators Mike Crapo, John Cornyn, Deb Fischer, John Kennedy and Roger Marshall. The guests were addressed by President Pahor and Senator Shelby.
On this day in 2014 a memorial plaque was unveiled near Polzela to remember the crew of the B-17 bomber which crashed in the area in 1944. 2 out of 10 crew members were saved by locals.
