After the Slovenian police officially retired its biggest patrol boat the P-111 after 26 years of service, the boat is currently transported on roads to the Museum of Military history in Pivka.
The boat weighs 44 tons and is 20 metres long. It has room for 3 crew members and up to 9 additional people. It was manufactured in 1994 by the Italian company Avionavtica. It was run by two diesel engines of the brand MTU, with a maximum speed of 40 knots.
The transport itself is an exceptional logistics endeavour – called transport of the century. Such a volume hasn’t been on such a long distance on Slovenian roads yet.
