The poet, playwright, essayist, translator, and editor Veno Taufer has died at the age of 90. He was considered one of the most radical poets of Slovenian modernism, and he will also be remembered for his engaged attitude towards social reality. Taufer also introduced modern European poetry to Slovenes in his translations. Among others, he has translated into Slovenian the most influential modernist poet T. S. Eliot.
