The National Electoral Commission said it is prepared for the 9 June EU elections, with electoral work proceeding as planned.
However, if referendums were to be held on the same day, there could be problems securing enough paper for printing all the ballots.
There are over half a dozen motions for consultative referendums in parliament at the moment, and although not all of them may actually be held, there have been suggestions that it would be economical to hold them together with the EU elections.
The Slovenian company printing the ballots told the commission that printing so many ballots would be a major effort for them.
