Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič has started the international season off with a bang by winning the Tour de l'Ain in France.

He narrowly lost stage 1 on Friday, won yesterday's 2nd mountainous stage and today held off his nearest rival Egan Bernal to win the 3rd and final stage up to the Col du Grand Colombier.

He finished the 17 km climb 4 seconds ahead of the Colombian, who was last year's winner of the Tour de France. Another Colombian, Nairo Quintana, was 3rd overall.

Roglič's team, Jumbo Visma, also took the overall team title.
