Almost 130,000 children returned to schools and kindergartens in nine of Slovenia's 12 regions. Education Minister Simona Kustec expressed hope that this was "the first sign of going back to normal." However the situation for next week is not yet clear.
Schools and kindergartens reopened today after almost three months of distance learning, despite the detection of the English variant of the coronavirus in Slovenia. More than 20,000 teachers were tested yesterday for Covid-19. Around 1% tested positive. A decision to also start testing children is yet to be made.
