The hardest hit municipality was Bovec. The earhquake also damaged many buildings in the municipalities of Idrija, Cerkno, Kobarid and Tolmin.

10 years after the earthquake many buildings are still waiting to be repaired or renovated. Altogether more than 1.800 buidlings were damaged by the earthquake. 685 of those were later included in the after-quake renovation program, however so far only around 300 have been fully restored.

Renovation has been slowed down this year also due to government cuts. Next year's state budget has set aside 5,5 million euros for restoring the Posočje post-quake damage.
