Slovenia intends to strengthen its trademark I feel Slovenija, increase its recognizability for foreign investments, and tourist travels. We will introduce our country with five themes: salt pans, apiculture, thermal and mineral waters, hiking and cycling, and black carbon monitoring (Pipistrel-Lenardič project).

More than 300 Slovenian companies will participate, coming from the fields of tourism, food, and green stories, including some Slovenian »gazelles« (Pipistrel, Akrapovič) and start-up companies. Jezeršek Catering will take care of food preparation and serving, with 15 traditional local dishes from the Kranjska sausage to sea bass from Piran, and the Slovenian staff will be wearing uniforms and airy lace accessories in the form of Slovenia, created at the Maribor Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and sewn by the MODA Mi & Lan company.

The total cost of our participation at EXPO will amount to five million euros, which places us among those paying the lowest price. For example Austria, with the surface of equal size from the total 1,910 square metres of EXPO surface, will spend 12 million euros, and again Hungary with the similarly large space 11 million euros. The highest expenses for EXPO will pay Germany and China - 50 million euros each.
