Rastoder transports 42,000 tons of bananas through the port of Koper, which is why the CEO of Luka Koper, Gašpar Gašpar Mišič, quickly announced that a compromise would be reached, and invited Rastoder to a meeting.

According to the information the media have obtained, the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK) has denounced a suspicion of a criminal act to the Prosecution Service. KPK argues that what Rastoder refers to as a real business deal in reality falls under the category of corrupt practices, specifically, as an officially prosecutable illicit giving or receiving of gifts in business transactions.

KPK believes the Prosecution Service will respond on its own as well, since it is legally bound to react to information that evidently indicates a criminal act had been committed.

Meanwhile crime investigators have initiated an investigation. Gašpar Mišič was already called and questioned about the details of the meeting with Rastoder, the port company has confirmed. Unofficially Rastoder had attempted to extort sponsorship funds for the football team from the former CEOs of Luka Koper, Gregor Veselko and Bojan Brank, too.
Rastoder, one of the biggest banana merchants in the world, had had fruit ripening facilities for lease in Koper until a few years ago. In 2012, he renovated and extended the capacity of a logistics centre (formerly the premises of the Intereuropa logistics company) in BTC City, Ljubljana’s largest goods and transport centre.
