At exactly 11 o’clock in the morning, the 14th Prince of the Ptuj Carnival, relieved the town's mayor of his duties and took control of Ptuj for the next 10 days.

During the festival, the oldest Slovenian town will see more than a 100 events but the height of the traditional celebration will take place next Sunday, when about 4 thousand masked participants will parade through the streets of Ptuj.
