Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly state that the regular sessions should be convened between 10 January and 15 July, and between 1 September and 20 December. However MPs may also call for extraordinary sessions even when Parliament is taking a break.

The final unofficial results of the parliamentary elections will be known after 21 July, when the ballots from abroad will be added. The first session of the new National Assembly shall be convened by the President of the Republic no later than 20 days after the election. The exact date is not yet known, but the session is expected to take place on 1 August.

Meanwhile Slovenian courts are also on recess from 15 July to 15 August. Several hearings will be taking place this week but after that only urgent cases will be dealt with. During recess no judicial documents will be handed to individuals and the vacation time will not be included in procedural deadlines. In recess time it will also be possible to file proposals to the land registry. All trials are scheduled to resume after the 15th of August.
