He said today that he needs to considerconstitutional, statutory and all procedural deadlines in order to set a new election date.

He also added that when all the possibilities to name a new PM-designate were exhausted, he wouldn’t want to delay the dissolution of parliament in order to postpone the election date to a later time.

He said that the President should immediately dissolve parliament when it becomes clear that no new PM-designate will be named. Pahor added that he chose the best among all the bad choices he had and set the date for the early elections for 13 July.
