EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy visited Slovenia today. Meeting PM Alenka Bratušek, the pair focused on reforms.

Van Rompuy said that the country had done a lot, especially in the financial sector, which is key for re-establishing growth and creating jobs, which has also been proven by the drop in the yield demanded for its bonds. However, he stressed that reforms need to continue and highlighted the need for measures to boost competitiveness.
The EU Council President added that reforms of the pensions system, the labour market and the banking sector would also be necessary.
PM Bratušek claimed that the coalition was set to fulfill all the necessary tasks in the coming years.
Together with President Borut Pahor, Van Rompuy also attended a panel on the future of the EU featuring students from the Ljubljana Faculty of Law.
