The decision of Slovenia is yet unclear as it will be decided on a correspondence session prior to the EU meeting in Brussels. Either way Slovenia said, it would oppose the planned Italian gas terminal in north Adriatic close to the Slovenian border.

Due to a lack to meet environmental standards Slovenia has been opposing Italy's plans for the terminal for years.

The Commission wishes to achieve a full support. That’s why it gave Slovenia and Italy until 20 September to negotiate on the gas terminal plans, while the final approval of the list by the European Commission is scheduled for 2 October.
