Record high water levels continue to threaten the residents of some villages in the south western part os Slovenia. The people of the area Planinsko polje and the area of Lake Cerknica are battling with increasing water for the eleventh day now.

Water has flooded over 40 houses in the settlement Planina. Several residents had to be evacuated due to imminent danger.
President Borut Pahor has visited the village Laze today. During his visit Pahor said, Slovenia will also help the people when the waters retreat.

The Slovenian Armed Forces have already joined relief efforts, bringing boats to the area and setting up sandbags.
