In their first Group B match on Wednesday, Igor Benedejčič’s side will take on the Czech Republic. The team is scheduled to square off against Germany on Saturday and against Belgium on Tuesday in the group stage of the competition.

Players from 11 teams will participate in the tournament. Most of them are plying their trade at Olimpija Ljubljana. Benedejčič has the following players at his disposal: Dejan Petrovič, Max Timi Elšnik (Aluminij); Sandi Ogrinec, Igor Vekić, Kevin Žižek (Bravo); Janez Pišek (Celje); Gaber Petric, Matija Rom (Domžale); Rok Bužinel (Gorica); Luka Guček (Krško); Sven Karić Šoštarič (Maribor); Jakob Novak, Sandi Čoralič, Rok Vodišek, Vitja Valenčič (Olimpija); Kristjan Sredojevič (Triglav); Oskar Cvjetičanin (Southampton); and Jan Mlakar (Fiorentina). Mlakar was the team’s top scorer in the qualifying round with 8 goals.
