They intend to meet the deadline for applications for European funds, i.e. February 26, as they would prefer not to rely on the possible tender for the next year. But it remains unclear how the government intends to assure the remaining part of the funds in the amount of one billion euros.

Financing remains the problem, and according to PM Cerar intensive discussion is going on. They prefer not to give any explanations for now, as it has too often happened that the politics rushed into projects only to face crumbling of their financial construction. The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure Klemen Grebenšek assures that at least the price is final: 1.4 billion Euro; a little less than 400 million euros, and not more, from the European funds. Minister of Infrastructure Peter Gašperšič should explain the closing of the financial structure. Cerar dismissed the rumours that Gašperšič is facing dismissal due to the second track, and expressed his support to the Minister.

PM, besides modernisation of the railway traffic, as the key project of the government mentioned also energy sanitation of buildings, and the flood protection action plan.
