No, I am not fed up with anything - everything is great! If only we always had the opportunity to invest so much time and effort into one song …

Tinkara Kovač is taking care of her voice for Eurovision, and leaves nothing to coincidence.

While this year Slovenia's representative at the Eurovision Song contest is impatiently waiting for her evening performance, she dedicated half an hour to chatting with MMC readers. Tinkara said that the stage for her song Round and Round is intentionally minimalist, and she considers the Slovenian song special as its lyrics is in two languages. "I miss that this year. I find all the compositions more or less equal, without language varieties. The flute gives something special as well, especially when actually played by the main vocalist. With our song we present ourselves as musicians, which is what we are. The story evolves with the vocal, the lyrics; the song tells the story."

Make-up, hairdo, rehearsals ...
Tinkara, wearing a dress by Svetlana Vizintin, will sing live, as well as backing vocalists, but she won't be actually playing the flute, as it wouldn't be technically feasible. Is it really so cold in the B&W Hallerne hall, as some say? "Well, our team doesn't think so, and as I am wearing a couple of kilograms of textile, I am certainly not cold (laughing). I could claim just the opposite," says Tinkara. Thursday is a really busy day for her.

Although the selection starts at 9 pm, the teams have to arrive to the scene early in the afternoon. "Make-up, and hairdo for the backing vocalists. In the meantime I will be waiting in the dressing room. Probably I’ll take a nap for half an hour (laughter). Then I have to dress, which takes almost half an hour. Rehearsal, than my make-up - and the PERFORMANCE," said the musician who is considered one of the most experienced and mature from all the participating. She likes best the Swiss Sebalter and the Italian Emma Marrone; she wouldn't mind singing a duet with her sometime in the future!

The taste of Slovenia on the north
The Slovenian delegation was very satisfied with the performance at the Wednesday dress rehearsal, which was also judged by the expert committee. Tinkara gets her energy and strength from her family as well - they followed her to Denmark. "My family is here with me (all of them, the baby included, on their own cost – this just to avoid eventual misunderstandings…), and they all support me. Yesterday before the dress rehearsal my mother cooked for me a typical Slovenian vegetable soup, which I ate in the camper parked next to the Eurosong hall," Tinkara expressed her satisfaction. She is the mother of two girls, Gaja and Alma.

Her schedule is so packed that no time is left for sightseeing. And she will have to skip shopping. She only bought a pair of "rock-and-roll shoes", while she finds Köbenhavn a very modern and beautiful city.

And the last question: how do they intend to celebrate her placing into the finals? "No matter how it ends, we intend to go out and play in the street!"

Good luck to Tinkara and her team!
