It said that Slovenia needs to continue with reforms, if we want to catch up with the EU average due to a 16% backlog.

According to the report, some encouraging signs have been made, such as export competitiveness growth, flexible labour market and increased research investment. However, the Institute claims that reforms need to be accelerated, especially in public finances, corporate deleveraging and bank rehabilitation.

Despite the current insecure political situation in Slovenia, IMAD insists on a positive economic forecast, both for this year and the year after.
