The results don't (entirely) agree with the opinions of culinary experts, as is most often the case when a wider audience gets to vote. However in such cases we should also take into account which restaurants have a more organised election base. That is why some of the places traditionally evaluated as top quality restaurants, had to accept a lower ranking than expected.

Instead of the more established Vila Podvin, Pri Danilu and Krištof, the winner in the Gorenjska region was a newcomer on the list, the Skipass restaurant from Kranjska Gora. Similar to its competition, in its creations Skipass relies on reviving the good food from the old recipes of Slovene kitchen.

In Your Pocket readers chose the Portorož Rizibizi restaurant for best restaurant in the Istria and Karst regions (including the Posočje area). The restaurant is already part of the elite JRE association (Jeunes restaurateurs d'Europe), however according to food critics at least three other restaurants are still ahead of Rizibizi: Hiša Franko in Kobarid, Pri Lojzetu at Zemono and the Mahorčič Inn in Rodik.

In Dolenjska it's Boheja, in Prekmurje it's Rajh
The best restaurant in the Štajerska and Prekmurje regions is without doubt Gostilna Rajh in Prekmurje. According to experts Rajh's competition in the Štajerska region are Pavus, Galerija Okusov and Hiša Raduha.

The undisputed winner in the Dolenjska region is the considerably new restaurant Boheja, in Novo Mesto. The restuarant that critics love, Debeluh from Brežice, came in sixth place.

There is less discord among the wider audience and food critics in the capital, Ljubljana. The JB restaurant has a big lead over the Gostilna As. The legendary Skaručna triumphed in the Ljubljana surroundings. Voting in the capital ended this spring.
