The Novo Mesto team thus put their first cup in their showcase while Olimpia, who already has 19 had to go home without one, breaking their six consecutive win streak. The tournament came to a close in Maribor for the third time. This is the fourth time the Ljubljana based team went home without winning a cup since Slovenia became independent.

Three of those four losses happened when the match was held in Maribor. Krka had been lacking in offence for some time now but showed what they were made of in Tabor. The Novo Mesto team threw the ball through the hoop from a distance with quick counterattacks. An aggressive defense was very efficient while the well versed trio Jaka Klobučar – Sani Bečirović – Edo Murić dictated the rhythm of the match.
