Talks focused on Slovenia’s cooperation within NATO and the preparations for NATO's September Summit in Wales. According to Rasmussen NATO's enlargement ten years ago, which also included Slovenia, has strengthened the euro Atlantic security. Talks with Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek also included the shrinking of defence budgets. Slovenia's defence spending is at around 1% of GDP, while NATO recommends that this should be 2%. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Defence Minister Roman Jakič and Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec also took part at a round table discussion entitled ‘Slovenia and NATO- yesterday, today and tomorrow.’
