Mountain bikers are outraged, saying a new act could abolish cycling tourism. A draft amendment to the Nature Conservation Act would put restrictions in place about where people can mountain bike.
Specifically, the draft would prohibit cycling anywhere except official paths. The penalty for violating the law would be from 100 to 2,000 euros. Cyclists argue the penalties and rules are draconian and that they will fight the legislation.
