The system detects emergency situations in the tunnel, such as stopped vehicles, vehicles driving in the wrong direction, slowly oncoming vehicles or barriers on the road and smoke and includes remote controlled video cameras along the tunnel as well as a system for the detection of dangerous substances. The value of the contract works, including the dismantling of the old system for traffic control is estimated at around 2.36 million EUR.
