New Slovenia (NSi) decided to join the opposition yesterday and will not be part of the new government colaition. The main reason is that only 2 of the party's 5 key points were inlcuded in the coalition agreement.

Parties on path to join the coalition, being put together by the most likely PM designate, Miro Cerar, are the Pensioner's Party DeSUS, the SD Social Democrats and the Alliane of Alenka Bratušek. The most-likely PM Miro Cerar thus has 52 secured votes in parliament.

The next issue Cerar will have to tackle is how to divide the ministries within the coalition. All eyes are on the finance and economy ministries, as the country is going through delicate financial times. A strong candidate to head the Finance Ministry is Mojmir Mrak from Miro Cerar's SMC Party, while the leader of the SD Social Democrats, Dejan Židan, is a candidate to head the Economy Ministry.
