Slovenia's president Borut Pahor invited the chair of the parliamentary Foreign Policy Committee, Jožef Horvat, for a working meeting in his presidential palace. The president explained that Croatia's recent decision to unilaterally pull out of the arbitration agreement was disproportionate.

According to Pahor, Slovenia is undertaking all the needed measures to enable the unbiased work of the arbitration tribunal. With that in mind, the two hope the government's decision in appointing a new member on the arbitration panel would guarantee the impartiality of the court and a final ruling.

Pahor and Horvat both agreed that the signing of the arbitration agreement was very important in improving the relations between the two neighboring countries and for the broad cooperation and trust. They also added that the agreement, which is an internationally valid treaty registered with the United Nations on the 25th of May, 2011, is still a good example of how to solve border disputes and other open questions between the countries in the former Yugoslavia.
