Prevc has been the most dominant ski jumper in the Four Hills tournament since Sven Hannawald and his four straight victories in the 2001/02 season. Adverse weather conditions prevented Prevc from winning all four events. In Bischofshofen, Prevc was in a league of his own.

Longer and longer jumps
Prevc took the lead after the first jump (139 metres). He also performed a telemark landing. Before the second series, he was ahead of German Severin Freund by 26 points in the tournament standings. Only disaster could have prevented Prevc from winning the Golden Eagle trophy.

Prevc jumps 142.5 metres and nails telemark landing
About 5000 Slovenians attended the tournament in Bischofshofen, Austria. Many of them even took a day off to witness the historic event. Their hearts skipped a beat when Severin Freund jumped 141 metres in the second round and received 20 points from one judge. However, Prevc proved that he was in a league of his own by jumping 142.5 metres and nailing a telemark landing. His victory at the Four Hills tournament sent his fans into a frenzy.

This might be the best day of my life. A huge weight fell off my shoulders. After landing, I let out all the pent up emotions. It was magnificent to see so many people in Bischofshofen,” Prevc said. He received the highest praise from his coach, Goran Janus: “He proved that he is the best. Too bad he came up short in Oberstdorf. Not just Peter, but the whole team was excellent.
