On Monday morning, at around 7.20 a.m., the Ljubljana Police Department was notified that a man fell and injured himself in a Ljubljana apartment. Upon their arrival the emergency team confirmed that the 56-year-old male (since 2006 a citizen of Germany, prior to that a citizen of Slovenia) was dead. A child was also in the apartment, but wasn't injured and was handed over to social workers.

The victim and the perpetrator knew each other
According to all the findings and information so far, the 34-year-old suspect entered the home of the victim on the night before October 6th. The victim and the perpetrator knew each other. At one moment the perpetrator became violent with the victim. He then hit the victim with a hard object, inflicting several serious injuries on the head, and then suffocated him. The suspect remained in the apartment until the next morning, and then drove away in his car.

The suspect was found in a forest log cabin in the area of Dobrova
The police started the search for the 34-year-old suspect. On the basis of media reports the police found out the same evening that the car, an Audi A4, was sighted in the area of Dobrova. The suspect was then found dead (he committed suicide before the arrival of the police) in a log cabin in the forest.
