They usually harvest around 2000 tonnes of honey, but this year the harvest will yield less than 500 tonnes. Even beekeepers with 40 years of experience cannot remember such a poor harvest.

Slovenian beekeepers have now turned to the government for help. The Ministry of Agriculture said it was familiar with the beekeepers’ grievances and stressed that it would help them address the issues.
