At Monday’s extraordinary session the supervisory board of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding dismissed the management of the holding, made up of Matej Pirc and Matej Runjak, three years before the end of its term.

The new man in charge of the 13 billion euro state assets will be Marko Jazbec, head of the Hotel Bernardin management. He will be assisted by Anja Strojin Štampar, who came to the SDH from the management of the Kad fund, and Nada Drobne Popovič, a current employee and board member at the SDH.
A total of 46 candidates applied for the positions, following the publishing of an international public call. With the help of a human resource agency the number was narrowed down to 20 candidates fulfilling all the formal criteria. At the proposal of a team of external consultants, the supervisory board then named the new management.

Earlier in July the National Assembly confirmed the new supervisory board of the Slovenian Sovereign Holding. Its members are Damjan Belič, who presides over the supervisors, Barbara Smolnikar, Drago Ferfolja, Duško Kos and Lidia Glavina. Immediately after they were named there were rumours that the supervisory would quickly find replacements for Pirc and Runjak.
