What was the only Slovene book shop in Trieste is now officialy closed. Before closing down it offered its last remaining books, dictionaries and maps, that could not be found anywhere else in Trieste.

The book shop organized over 100 literary meetings in the last two years but recorded falling sales and financial problems. Slovene and Italian users hope officials will fulfill their promise of opening a new Slovene book shop and culture center in central Trieste, due its significance and impotance for the region.
