The Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek received the award from the hands of Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), who at that occasion also praised Slovenia saying: "Who never visited Slovenia hasn’t lived yet."

Zdravko Počivalšek said: "I am very happy and proud to receive the award given to Slovenia as the fast developing tourist destination by the association of tourist writers. The award confirms that what we are doing for tourism is right, as the important criteria were sustainable development, and improved quality of travelling and tourism. Such an award is also an encouragement for future work, and improves the recognisability of Slovenia."

The Slovenian Tourism Organisation (Slovenska turistična organizacija - STO) received awards for two promotional videos, i.e video advertisement Invitation to Slovenia, and video advertisement Invitation to Slovenia with Perpetuum Jazzile. The promotional video advertisements for Slovenian tourism were made in 2015 by STO, following the story about green, active and healthy Slovenia, in harmony with the very core idea of I FEEL SLOVENIA brand.

The international awards Das Goldene Stadttor at this year’s ITB were given for the 14th consecutive time. The awards are given for tourism video advertisements, printed media, and multimedia communication in several categories, based on the decisions of the international expert committee.
