This year Slovenia will be the host of the exercise involving 1,500 participants from 9 countries, including soldiers from Croatia, the USA, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Great Britain. The operator of the computer-assisted exercise is the command of the American land forces in Europe.
The dispute between the municipality of Postojna and the MInistry of Defense has not been resolved yet. The dispute was caused by non-payment of compensation for use of the Poček exercise grounds and the fact that the influence on the surroundings and on human health has not been established yet. For that reason three requests for control of constitutionality and legality are still open, consequently evoking mixed fillings among local population.
The Slovenian Armed Forces have lately chosen a friendlier approach towards the local community. They wish to build two-way open relationships with the local population, and the matter is being discussed with the Municipality.
