Stress spent the past year in several cities in France, where he had studied, while Turnšek lived in the Stična monastery. The time they had to spend away from their archdioceses officially came to an end in the end of July. Both had to step down from the office of archbishop in the wake of the financial scandal at the Maribor Archdiocese, and according to the church practise they had withdrawn from their archdioceses in order to allow the matter to settle.

Stres will dedicate himself to philosophy
The return of Stres was unofficially confirmed by the circles close to the Slovenian Bishops' Conference. The Ljubljana society of Lazarists, into the life of which Stres used to be included in the past, gave no explanations.

In future he will probably dedicate himself to philosophy, the subject he had lectured before becoming the Archbishop of Ljubljana. He will join one of Slovenian Lazarist groups, in Ljubljana, Celje, Šentjakob pri Ljubljani or at the Miren Castle.

At present Turnšek is leading spiritual exercises
The general vicar Janez Lesnik confirmed Turnšek’s return to the archdiocese of Maribor. He said that Turnšek has not decided yet about his future, but "most certainly intends to stay at the archdiocese territory". "At present he is leading different spiritual exercises, and is rather busy," he explained.

Not any more members of the Slovenian Bishop's Conference
Some time ago the representative of the Slovenian Bishop's Conference Tadej Strehovec explained that both Stres and Turnšek hold the title »retired bishop«. They won't be members of the Slovenian Bishop's Conference, but the local bishops will have the possibility to include them into the work of their archdioceses. It is up to them to choose the place of their residence, and what they wish to occupy themselves with.
