National authorities and non-governmental organizations are supporting the campaign which is entitled "Stop, because the train cannot.”
Analyses namely show that most accidents on level crossings happen, because drivers ignore traffic rules and are arrogant and impatient.
Last year the authorities have recorded 105 level crossing barriers have been broken on purpose by reckless drivers. There are 830 level crossings across Slovenia, 490 are protected only by traffic signals. In 2013 five people have died on railway crossings without barriers.
