Following the example of the Alpe Adria hiking trail, with daily stages between 12 and 20 kilometres, the Association of the Julian Alps established and marked a new, almost 300 km long journey on foot around the Julian Alps, connecting the regions of Gorenjska and Primorska. Hiking enthusiasts are invited this Sunday to try out their first hikes on the sections of the trail.

"The idea is very similar – we want to connect the places. This will not be a high-mountain route but a valley trail, which is suitable for everyone. This route is also expected to be one of the initiators of development in these parts, because it goes through areas where tourism is not yet developed, for example Baška grapa and Log pod Mangartom," explains Janko Humar, director of the Soča Valley Tourist Board.

For the first time, a part of the trail can be experienced on Sunday starting at 9 am – in Hudajužna (Baška grapa), Bohinj, Bled, Radovljica, Žirovnica, Jesenice and Kranjska Gora.
