Wolf's lawyer Markus Singer said the businessman had been detained. In the Patria case three co-defendants including former PM Janez Janša were found guilty of corruption. They were charged with offences of receiving bribes in the Patria armoured vehicles case.

Walter Wolf later withdrew to Canada. He said he would not get a fair trial in Slovenia and hadn’t shown up in court when summoned. The District Court in Ljubljana issued a warrant in March 2013. It said that Wolf was apparently hiding from the Slovene court. His lawyer has requested that Canadian authorities extradite him to Austria.
