The monument on Kongresni Square, vandalised with graffiti at the end of February, cannot be cleaned for some time due to adverse weather conditions.
The Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities selects a provider for the regular maintenance of war cemeteries through a public tender process. The Ministry reported that they were notified about the vandalism on the 24th February and the provider covered up the graphic within a couple of hours that same day. But the cover subsequently came off due to low temperatures.
