However a bad weather forecast somewhat shrank that number. The 32nd Wine Spring in Metlika is the largest event dedicated to wine culture and tourism in the region of Bela krajina in south-eastern Slovenia.

It lasts for three days and this year’s focus was on how asparagus and wine can be best combined. Several wine producers were also awarded champion titles for their best wines. Otherwise the event also offered traditional food and authentic wines from the region.
The organizers have also crowned the new queen of Metliška črnina red wine as they do every year since 2007. The title went to Janja Hozner.
