The number of people who were registered as unemployed rose by half a percent and is now 13.5%. Although women generally had a higher unemployment rate (14.2%) than men, men saw a bigger jump into unemployment, with the rate rising from 12.1% to 13.5%.

By comparison, the unemployment rate among women in the same time frame rose only 0.1%. At the end of 2013, about 791,323 people were employed in Slovenia – 7,000 less than in November. Of particular concern is the youth unemployment rate: it's 33.8% among people aged 15-24.
