Marcel Hirscher of Austria won the Vitranc Cup event in Kranjska Gora today, beating 2nd placed Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway by 1.22 seconds. Switzerland's Ramon Zenhausern was 3rd.
The best of the Slovenes was Štefan Hadalin in a creditable 13th place, just under 3 seconds behind the winner.
It was also a good day for Slovenian athletes in winter sports competitions elsewhere.
Filip Flisar came 3rd in the latest series of ski cross races in Sunny Valley, Russia.
That race was won by Canada's Kevin Drury with Swiss Jonas Lenherr in second.
And Nika Križnar also finished 3rd in the women's ski jumping event in Romania.
The runaway series leader Maren Lundby of Norway was the winner. Germany's Katarina Althaus came second and remains second in the overall standings.
