Fierce winds swept through Slovenia this afternoon, ripping off roofs and toppling trees. Several people were hurt.
In Kranj, the winds peeled the roofs off of some 70 buildings. More than 150 firefighters were deployed to deal with the situation.
Winds were blowing at a record 102 kilometres an hour.
A tree fell on a woman in Tivoli Park, injuring her lightly. Elsewhere construction material flew into a car, lightly injuring a passenger.
In Austrian carinthia, two children were reportedly killed when a tree fell.
