Foreign Minister Anže Logar today discussed the Covid-19 pandemic with his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez Lay in Madrid.

The pair emphasized the importance of solidarity, connectivity, and unity in times of the pandemic. Their talks also touched on the situation in the Western Balkans, especially migration and the EU's new package on migration and asylum, which Spain supports. The ministers also agreed the EU should respond to the situation in Venezuela and Belarus as soon as possible.

Logar is to visit Portugal tomorrow. Slovenia is taking over the EU presidency from Portugal in the second half of 2021.
