Mark Cavendish of the Isle of Man crashed out of the race. This was his last Tour de France.

He had announced that he would retire at the end of the season.

Cavendish narrowly missed out on victory yesterday into Bordeaux. He holds the joint record for the most stage wins with legendary rider Eddie Merckx.

The 'Manx Missile' had been hoping to take the record outright with his 35th stage win.

Pogačar remains in 2nd place behind defending champion Jonas Vingegaard.

The races returns to the mountains tomorrow, ending with a climb to the Puy de Dôme in the Massif Central, 1415m above sea level. Monday will be the first rest day of the race after an exciting first week.
