Agriculture Minister Jože Podgoršek tendered his resignation today over a lack of clarity about the payment of a weekend stay in a hotel in the Bohinj area. The minister reportedly resided at an upscale hotel in January with his wife, and initially failed to pay the 800-euro bill. Mr. Podgoršek said he was accepting responsibility for his actions, but also claims to be the victim of blackmail. Jože Podgoršek was appointed agriculture minister in late 2020 to replace Aleksandra Pivec, who also resigned for similar reasons.
