All persons suspected of contracting Covid-19 will be tested.

The Health Ministry’s decision comes after testing was slowed down at the end of October. The changes are based on recommendations from the expert advisory group.

Swabs need to be taken within 24 hours following the referral of a person suspected of being infected by their physician. If more than one member of a household gets symptoms, it will be decided on individual basis whether all members of the household will be tested.

The number of tests increased fivefold in the second wave of the epidemic.

The highest daily Covid-19 death toll was recorded in Slovenia yesterday as 34 people died. The number of hospitalized patients was up slightly to 1,084, of which 178 required intensive care. The share of positive tests was down by more than one percentage point to 25.42%
