The results of Slovenia's parlimentary elections are in and SDS, with Janez Janša at the helm, has been victorious with 25% of the vote, giving them 25 seats in parliament.

Voter turnout was relatively high with just over half of the electorate going to the polls.

Around 1.7 million people had been eligible to vote in Sunday's election.

The Marjan Šarec List, or LMŠ party, came a distant 2nd with around 12.7% of the vote, followed by a number of parties on just under 10%, including SD, SMC and the Levica, or Left, party.
