Danes se posvetimo še eni legendarni pesmi, ki je svojo mesto našla tudi v Grammy hall of fame.
Ni bilo težko ugotoviti, da gre za pesem My way, ki jo mnogi poznate ali v verziji Franka Sinatre oziroma v verziji Sid Viscius-a.
Pesem My way je za Sinatro napisal Paul Anka, ob izdaji pa ni bila pretirano uspešna ali zasedla same vrhove lestvic, svoj kultni status je pridobivala z leti.
V istem obdobju je izšla še ena verzija pesmi My way, ki jo je pela Dorothy Squires, pevka iz Wales-a, in tudi ta je vsaj na britanskih lestvicah požela podoben uspeh kot Sinatrina. Pel jo je tudi Elvis, čeprav mu je Anka položil na dušo, da ni ravno primerna za njegov karakter in imidž.
Kot rečeno, se pod avtorstvo podpisuje Paul Anka, a le-ta ni originalni pisec.
Anka je namreč na potovanju po Franciji slišal pesem "Comme d'habitude" Claude-a François-a, ki v prevodu pomeni 'as usual - kot ponavadi'. Ko je Anka slišal pesem, je takoj poletel v Paris, da se je izpogajal za pravice prirejanja. Ko jo je pričel preurejati, je kmalu ugotovil, da je sam ne more peti in jo je pričel namensko pisati za Sinatro, čeprav si je s tem nakopal težave s svojo založbo.

In the past years we’ve exposed the background and samples of newer hits and evergreens. This year we will focus on songs that are most frequently sampled in the music industry. This week we have arrived at number 49 of our chart. Number 49 of the most often sampled songs is 'Blow your head' from Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s. This James Brown influenced funk creation offers an exceptional intro to the song, that many musicians, mostly hip hop artists of the 90's, used as sample for their own songs. The best known examples of samples of this part of the song are: Public Enemy in Public Enemy No.1 ,De La Soul in songs Sunshine and Oooh, Puff daddy in P.E.2000, Digable Planets in Rebirth Of Slick (Cool Like That), Bomb The Bass in Beat Dis and of course many others. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pozdravljeni v oddaji Second hand.
