Danes se posvetimo sveži pesmi, ki se vrti po radijskih postajah po vsem svetu.
Gre za pesem Avstralske pevke Grace Sewell z naslovom "You Don't Own Me".
Grace je šele pričela s svojo kariero in pesem je prvi singl z njenega debutantskega albuma, že pri tem pa je delala pod okriljem znanega producenta Quincy Jones, pri pesmi pa sodeluje G-Eazy.
Grace prihaja iz družine glasbenikov, v mladosti pa so Grace za petje navdušili Smokey Robinson, Janis Joplin, Shirley Bassey in Amy Winehouse.
Pred izdajo pesmi v ozadju "You Don't Own Me" je Grace nastopila za Dropout Live UK s priredbo pesmi "Do It like a Dude" od Jessie J. Kot je tudi pričela pojavnost na sceni, s priredbo "Do It like a Dude", je nadaljevala pri prvem singlu. "You Don't Own Me" je namreč priredba pred kratkim preminule Lesley Gore.
"You Don't Own Me" sta zanjo napisala John Madara in David White, posnela pa jo je že pri svojih 17-tih letih. Pri produkciji je sodeloval Quincy Jones in to je verjetno tudi zarlog, da se priključil tudi produkciji priredbe. Z originalom je Lesley dosegla drugo mesto na Billboardovi lestvici, kjer so takrat kraljevali Beatli s svojo "I Want to Hold Your Hand" . S tem je pesem postala njena druga najuspešnejša, takoj za hitom "It's My Party".

In the past years we’ve exposed the background and samples of newer hits and evergreens. This year we will focus on songs that are most frequently sampled in the music industry. This week we have arrived at number 49 of our chart. Number 49 of the most often sampled songs is 'Blow your head' from Fred Wesley and the J.B.'s. This James Brown influenced funk creation offers an exceptional intro to the song, that many musicians, mostly hip hop artists of the 90's, used as sample for their own songs.
